Eat Pie, Love Life, & a Winning Team

My favorite local pie bakery shop in Dewitt, MI attended the National Pie Championship last week and they came home with prizes once again! Linda, the owner, has a pie-baking team full of spirit, hard work and a dedication to Sweetie-licious Bakery like you wouldn't believe. Congrats to Linda and her staff! I was recently asked to be in my girlfriend's wedding this summer. Weddings are always such a fun event to be a part of! I am excited to see her tie the knot and begin her happily ever after ~

Andrejka Photography

I am happy to share with you that Andrejka Photography will be back in the shop this season. For those who do not know Andrejka, she is an amazing photographer originally from Michigan. She spends half of her time in Santa Barbara, CA and the other half on Mackinac Island ,as well as traveling all over the country and Europe. You never know where she might be! There will be a display of Andrejka's work in the store and I can't wait for you to see the stylish frames (that Andrejka, herself, is making!) her photos will be sold in. Andrejka does a fabulous job capturing your special moments in life...weddings...maternity...portraits...travel...kids...honeymoon..and just about anything! Simplicity

It's Friday! I hope you survived your week and have something relaxing and enjoyable planned for your weekend.

During this busy preparation time for me and the rest of the island worker's, we get a bit too overwhelmed and need to take a step back and remember why we do what we do and appreciate those who are apart of our lives and most importantly treasure the present day. I know I sound like I am preaching inspiration...the life tip is for me too, especially! I have to often tell myself "why stress over work, it's not worth doing it, if you are going to stress." A friend of mine told me that a year ago, and to me it makes perfect sense. People, jobs, and other things get in the way of what we live for and love to do. Today, I am going to appreciate the day a little bit more and those around me, and most importantly be grateful for what I do, no matter how overwhelming it may be at times.

I hope you can do the same today - step back, enjoy the sunshine, and this lovely Friday.

Dream Camping

To some this may look like the worst vacation ever, to me, this is my dream camping trip! One day I want to own an old RV like this. I grew up camping on Lake Charlevoix with my family. It was the week in late July my brothers and I always looked forward to. I hope to one day continue the family camping tradition with my own family, but add a little bit of retro camping to our trip!

Hello, Spring! April Giveaway!

April showers have arrived and now we hope for gorgeous May flowers! Spring to me is about getting organized, getting rid of all of winter's dust, and making plans for the summer months. This month's giveaway is a medium sized journal by Oh, Joy! and a small notepad to slip into your purse-you never know when you need to make a list or jot some notes down. For those who know me, I am the queen of Lists! To-do lists, daily lists, monthly lists, grocery lists, shopping lists, vacation lists. basically anything that crosses my mind I jot it down and eventually create a list!

So I would like to share my crazy need to make lists with you this spring! To have these two little journals on your desk with a pen in hand, share with us your top five favorite things to do once Spring arrives. To me, the season of spring tends to overwhelm me because there are too many things to do at once with the warm weather arriving.
